This 4kg Weighted Turtle is made to our specific requirements and exclusive to Starfish.
Perfect for those who benefit from compression - for calming, sensory overload, hyperactivity, autism spectrum disorder and sensory processing disorder. It is an excellent addition to a sensory diet.
Approximately 52cm x 55cm, this weighted plush toy sits neatly across the lap and hangs down either side and made from strong and durable cotton on each side. Ideal for when sitting on the floor or lounge or if at a desk.
As a guide most therapists recommend weighted items to be approximately 10% of body weight. If unsure, or thinking you might need to go heavier, we would suggest you speak with an Occupational Therapist.
There is also a general "rule" that weighted items are used in blocks of time, of up to 20 minutes per session. Please note: we recommend using weighted items in consultation with your therapist.
Made in the most plush soft fabric, the 4kg weighted crocodile feels lovely to touch and pat. It has additional fidget options with the fabric of the ears and spine, as well as the stitching across the snout.
Please note: This turtle is designed for therapeutic use. It is not a toy and may not withstand rough treatment.
Caring for your weighted items:
Do:
- use while seated or stationery
- carry with both hands
- surface clean with a damp sponge
- restitch seams in places (if the weight strains the seams) using top stitch
Avoid:
- using while walking or moving around
- carrying in a way that places undue stress on seams
- dropping or rough handling
