Pass The Bomb Junior is a fast paced, action packed vocabulary and language building game for all the family. The Junior version lets younger kids join in on the fun of the Pass the Bomb tradition.
The cards are designed to promote speech, enhance speech, imagination and creativity. Think of words with the picture as a stimulus or think of words by association.
Flip a card from the centre deck. Press the button on the base of the 'bomb', then take turns saying a word to go with that picture or theme. Whoever runs out of ideas when the bomb goes off, has to keep the card.
The tricky thing is though, in the Pass the Bomb Junior game, you never know when the bomb will go off (as the time span varies from 10 seconds to 1 minute. For example: The card is a picture "At the Beach" so words could be: umbrella, swimming costume, towel, sunburn, hot, sunny, wet, waves, snorkel, flippers, sunblock etc.
Pass the Bomb Junior is one of our all time favourite games at our Starfish tutoring centre. The manufacturers state it is suitable for 5yrs and up, though we would argue that verbally capable younger kids could also play. We've also had this game out at home, with our large extended family of over 20 from 8yrs up to 74yrs all playing and laughing.Â
