Developing good hand strength enables a solid foundation for building fine motor skills, which is why these go hand in hand with each other. Our fine motor skills are are necessary for all our smaller movements, such as writing, pressing buttons and picking things up, as opposed to larger movements like jumping which require gross motor skills.
